GIMPA Admission Of Candidates Into Postgraduate Diploma In Monitoring And Evaluation

The gimpa school of public service and governance announces for the information of the general public that applications are open for the admission of prospective applicants into the newly Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation programme, accredited by the National Accreditation Board (NAB) starting January, 2018.

The rationale for the programme is based on the crucial need for highly skilled and trained experts to consolidate and improve the monitoring and evaluation processes in Africa, understanding of the multi-dimensional complexities of monitoring and Evaluation, in order to successfully manage the challenges and utilize the opportunities provided by it. The course seeks to enhance the understanding and practice of monitoring and evaluating within the public sector, civil society, development oriented and private sector organizations. It starts by engaging participants to explore and appreciate the concept and application of ‘Monitoring’ and ‘Evaluation’ (M&E).

The general objective of the M&E programme is to adequately prepare participants to develop creative and analytical thinking, good judgment, enhanced policy making and other critical managerial skills. The specific objectives are to

i. Help participants explore and appreciate the meaning and application of monitoring and evaluation within the context of their working environment.

ii. Design and Implement a monitoring and evaluation system.

iii. Commission, conduct, and manage evaluation of development projects.

iv. Provide user-friendly approaches and tools to guide the effective tracking and reporting on various development interventions that can guide informed decisions and actions of various stakeholders in the development process

• A Bachelor’s degree in the broad field of the social sciences and humanities, health science or any other undergraduate field acceptable to the National Accreditation Board (NAB) of Ghana

• A professional qualification from a recognized professional body equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree.

• A postgraduate diploma in project planning and management from a recognized institution of higher learning may receive some exemptions based on the GIMPA policy.

• Mode Of Delivery (Duration: 6 Months For Full Time Morning, Evening, Weekends And One Year For Modular)

• Tuition: Gh¢ 7000.00

An application form and three (3) referee forms may be obtained from the Cashier’s Office at GIMPA or downloaded from the GIMPA website – www.gimpa.edu.gh.
Application fee GH¢100.00.
