UEW 2018 Critiquing A Research Article: A Clinical Session

As part of the institutional objectives to bridge the gender representation gap, promote gender equality and equity in UEW and strengthen the research capacity of female senior members to support their career progression and advancement in the University, the Gender Mainstreaming Directorate is organizing a three-day workshop for female senior members in the University on the theme- “Critiquing a Research Article: A Clinical Session”. The workshop is scheduled as follows:

  • Date: 19th to 21st June, 2018
  • Venue: Registrar’s Conference Room, North Campus
  • Time: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day

Resource Person is Prof. Ama Degraft Aikins, Dean of International Programmes (University of Ghana, Legon)

The rationale for the organization of this workshop is to create a platform for female senior members to share their experiences and have their research papers critiqued by an experienced researcher. Undoubtedly, most female senior members may not be able to easily climb the professional ladder on their own as compared to their male counterparts because of the increasing demands on their lives: wife, mother, student and other roles. Thus, the idea of inviting a resource person to critique papers, share experiences, encourage and motivate female senior members to push through the professional ladder to the highest pinnacle of their career in academia.

All are cordially invited to attend the Workshop
