Background 
Sustainable Livelihoods and Development Network for Africa (SLIDEN AFRICA) is a non-governmental, non-profit making network coordinated from Nigeria with offices in Kenya and Ghana. It is made up of partners with knowledge and experience in the Agriculture, Development Studies and related fields. SLIDEN AFRICA was established in 2000 with a vision to contribute to the empowerment of poor people in Africa through poverty alleviation, livelihoods development, skill enhancement and gender parity in development, research and networking. It aims at contributing significantly to the attainment of increase in level of education, reducing poverty, ensuring gender equity and environmental sustainability in Africa.
