Overview Of UDS Grading system

The University For Development Studies Grading System Is a Structure Where students are been graded according to their score in Semester Examinations ; University For Development Studies Grading System 2023/2024; Students’ Performance in a course shall be graded as follows:
Grades Marks% Credit Value/GP Description

A 80-100 4.0 Excellent

B+ 75-79 3.5 Very Good

B 70-74 3.0 Good

C+ 65-69 2.5 Very Fair

C 60-64 2.0 Fair

D+ 55-59 1.5 Satisfactory

D 50-54 1.0 Barely Satisfactory

E 0-49 0 Unsatisfactory

X – – Absent

Grades A to D are Pass Grades

Grade E is Failure Grade

Classification of the awards for the diploma program is as follows:

UDS Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) 2023

Distinction CGPA of 3.5 – 4.0

Credit CGPA of 2.5 – 3.49

Pass CGPA of 1.0 – 2.49

Fail CGPA of less than -1.0

Classification of award for the BA programme is as follows:

First Class CGPA of 3.5 – 4.00

Second Class (Upper Division) CGPA of 3.0 – 3.49

Second Class (Lower Division) CGPA of 2.5 – 2.99

Third Class CGPA of 2.0 – 2.49

Pass CGPA of 1.1 – 1.99

Fail CGPA of less than 1.0

How is CGPA calculated in Ghana?Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA): The student’s cumulative grade point average is calculated by dividing the total number of grade points obtained, up to any specified time, by the total number for credits of all courses for which the student has registered up to that time
