NTC GTLE Examination Date
The first phase and 8th teacher licensure examination (GTLE) of the 2022 academic year will be administered from April 21 and April 22, 2022, at various centres, the Management of the National Teaching Council (NTC) has disclosed.
The date for the Ghana teacher licensure examination (GTLE) comes after the Council in a statement to some Colleges of Education requested for their halls to be centres for the administration of the forthcoming examination.
“The Management of the National Teaching Council (NTC) humbly requests the use of your institution’s halls for the 2022 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE),” the Council stated in a statement copied to EducationWeb.
The Teaching Council (NTC) earlier projected to commence the conduct of the 2022 teacher licensure examination in March this year but due to circumstances beyond control, the national examination has been slated for April this year.
Eligibility:
1. All Prospective candidates who hold the Diploma in Basic Education (DBE), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), M.Ed and are desirous of seeking employment as teachers.
2. All the above-mentioned candidates who completed in 2021 or before qualify to write the examination at a Centre of their choice.
3. Candidates who wrote the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) but were unsuccessful in some papers may register to re-sit.
Registration fees:
The below fees were what candidates who sat for the examination in the 2021 academic year paid. It is currently unclear if the Management responsible for licensing teachers will announce new prices for the 2022 registration.
A. Fresh candidates are required to pay GHȻ 280.00 to register for the examination.
B. Candidates who are re-sitting are to pay GHȻ 150.00 for one (1) Re-sit paper.
C. Candidates who are re-sitting two (2) papers are to pay GHȻ 250.00.
D. Candidates who are re-sitting all three (3) papers are to pay GHȻ 280.00.
According to the Teaching Council says payment for the registration can be made at any branch of GCB Bank LTD and Prudential Bank Ltd nationwide. Candidates must notify the Bank as fresh students, re-sitting one, two or three papers.

1. Candidates at ST. Louis, UENR and UCC Centre, Papafio shall receive text messages to confirm their exact centres. They may also visit the registration portal using their login details.
2. Numeracy shall start at exactly 9:00 am and end at 10:45 am.
3. Essential Profession Skills shall start at 11:45 am and end at 1:00 pm
4. Literacy shall start at 2:00 pm and end at 3:15 pm
5. Candidates shall not be permitted to write at any centre other than their assigned centres.
6. Candidates shall wear face mask before, during and after each paper.
7. Candidates shall follow all COVID-19 protocols including washing of hands, use of hand sanitizers and observance of social distance.
8. Candidates shall be seated 30 minutes before the start of each paper.
