What is MSc/MPhil Development Policy and Planning ? 

The Development Planning and Management (Perancangan dan Pengurusan Pembangunan [PPP]) programme is an integrated multi-disciplinary programme. MSc/MPhil Development Planning and Management are of Two (2) Calendar Years and (Part-Time) Three (3) Calendar Years duration.

KNUST MSc/MPhil Development Policy and Planning Entry Requirement

a. All students admitted are initially enrolled in the Master of Science
Programme. After twelve (12) calendar months, students who pass
all the required courses will be awarded a Master of Science degree
in Development Policy and Planning (DEPP). Those who obtain
CWA of 70 or more at the end of the first year may progress as
MPhil Development Policy and Planning candidates for the second
year. Such candidates would spend the academic year writing their
theses and will be expected to complete the programme by the end
of the second year.

b. The MSc/MPhil programme is designed for a wide range of
professionals working in areas of development policy and planning
in sectoral ministries, budgeting offices, Metropolitan, Municipal
and District Assemblies as well as the private sector. Applicants
must have with a bachelor’s degree in the Second Class Division
and above or its equivalent in the following programmes from
recognised institutions are encouraged to apply:
Planning, Development Studies, Integrated Development Studies,
Geography, Environmental Studies Social Studies, Sociology, Land
Economy, Agriculture, Renewable Natural Resources, Economics,

Civil Engineering, Business and Public Administration, and any
other relevant programmes

c. Applicants with post-graduation experience in industry or research
may have an added advantage. All applicants must pass selection
interviews before gaining admission.
d. Students enrolled in the DEPP programme are required to pay
WEEKEND fee approved by the University.
